About Us

William J Carroll’s commenced trading on a small scale in 1974. It was the servicing skills of Willie Joe Carroll that provided the basis for the creation of a successful retail farm machinery service. When the level of part time work that Willie Joe was doing started to interfere with his regular job, both he and his wife Sarah knew it was decision time. They took the strong and confident decision to go it alone and the business of WJ Carroll’s LTD was established.

The early effort was to develop a retail dealership. Willie Joe started off slowly and developed a reputation for honest dealing, where the interests of the customer were always put first. The success and long lasting loyalty of customers built up by WJ Carroll’s today, is a measure of the success of the business strategy.

WJ Carroll is now a recognised dealer for a number of machinery and engineering companies. Most notably is Landini tractors, Morra mowers and Rossmore front loaders. In 1993 WJ Carroll joined partnership with Landini tractors. They were appointed as main agents supplying the south of Tipperary. Since then the company has enjoyed undoubted success where both old and new customers return on a regular basis to upgrade their machinery. In 1994 WJ Carroll made the move to import Morra mowers and Balers into Ireland. These Italian built machines have since proven themselves to be a big success in the field.

The Carroll family has a full involvement in the current operation. Willie Joe Carroll, the founder remains in close contact with all aspects of the business. The addition of his sons to the business has added new, young and fresh ideas in helping drive on the business. Denis, who qualified as an Agri mechanic joined the business in 1993. He now spends his time between both servicing and in sales with his two brothers Joseph and Jerry.

WJ Carroll’s are currently main agents for Landini tractors, Rossmore Engineering, Morra Mowers, Rauch Fertilizer spreaders, Ossella and Uni-Green Sprayers, NC Trailers and Cashel Engineering. They also source and supply any other machinery required (both new and second hand) by their customers to which they back up their machinery trade with a fully qualified trained staff.
